Reason #5,280: Why I Love Colorado

Did you know Colorado is the the only state with the obesity rate under 20 percent? With roughly 205 parks in the city and 20,000 acres of parks in the mountains, it's no wonder we are the fittest state. But it isn't just the trails and beautiful scenery that makes it easy to be active. There are workout groups which offer free (yes FREE) boot camps leaving no excuse to not get your body moving. Below are a couple of groups you should check out.

If you've ever been to a concert at Red Rocks you already know how brutal the steps can be, now imagine using the venue for your workout. My legs hurt just thinking about it. Voted best boot camp by 5280 magazine, the appropriately titled It Burns Joe Fitness meets every Saturday and Sunday for three hours at the famous amphitheater. Participants can expect lots of sweat, and probably tears, but you won't be alone as up to 200 fitness fanatics will be burning right along with you. They also meet Wednesday nights at various locations, which are announced weekly. Interested in working hard? Check out their website here.

Fluent Fitness offers boot camps most Saturday and Sunday mornings at Washington Park in Denver. Partakers are given a full body workout not to mention doses of encouragement from the trainers. Each group is around 25-30 people who are all supportive, energetic and fun. To find out more check them out here on Facebook.

I hope you take advantage of one (or both) of these amazing groups!
