Classes Attended: Pyramid Fat Blaster, New Year Revolution, Tighten Up.
Andrea: Where you start isn't as important as where you finish.
Food: I love carbs. The doughy, startchy variety. I'm looking at you bagels. Though I don't need that kind in my diet, I realized healthy carbs were lacking. By adding sweet potatoes, legumes, and fruit, I get the energy I need without the unhealthy additives.
Fitness: I like changing things up so this past weekend I skiied as a workout. It was my first time trying it, and I had a blast. Your workout doesn't always have to be in a gym.
Feelings: As we get closer to the end of this challenge, the harder I want to work. I am happy with my progress thus far and want to finish with everything I've got.
Rebecca: I cannot succumb to dis-ease; not only physically, but also in my mind.
Food: I had to reevaluate my food intake again this week. As I continue to push myself harder in workouts, I realized I am not eating enough. I am paying more attention to my macro nutrients and adjusting those ratios to match my goals, and ensuring that even though I've increased quantity, the quality of food isn't suffering.
Fitness: My kids have been sick with a nasty cough for the better part of the last 10 days which made for some sleepless nights, and I missed a couple of workouts. I did get a nice stretch of skiing in on Friday and found some muscles I forgot I had. As we are down to the final days here, I just want to show up and work hard so as not to lose any momentum I have gained thus far.
Feelings: This past week has been an excellent reminder that for all the planning, life doesn't care and sh!t happens. Because of my lack of sleep and being surrounded by germy little humans, I have been working desperately to not get what they have. It has been going OK, but I feel fatigued. I am working on not beating myself up about it. I'm down another pound and not gaining, so those are my big wins. This week will be challenging as well as I am coming into the part of the cycle where I retain unwanted water and have increased sugar cravings - right before weigh in: Fun! But I will just keep on keepin' on, because the changes I have made are working. I just need to continue doing the next right thing.
